ID Pioneers 2022-23 Scholarships & Grants


Application is now open for the following ID Pioneers Scholarships & Grants for the 2022/23 Academic Year:
• The Lena Elizabeth Wilson Academic Scholarship
• The Joseph Wilson Young Farming Entrepreneurs Grant
For the upcoming academic year, ID Pioneers is expected to disburse up to J$90,000 in scholarships & grants to two (2) secondary level students and one (1) Young Farming Entrepreneur.

Financial assistance will be provided on a case-by-case basis.

ID Pioneers will award Scholarships and Grants to individuals who: have financial constraints, are purpose-driven, well-rounded, as evidenced by their involvement in extra-curricular activities or voluntary work done in their schools/communities; and demonstrate satisfactory academic performance.


The Lena Elizabeth Wilson Scholarship


This Scholarship was named after our Founder’s Grandmother who, throughout her lifetime, passionately guided youths towards living purposeful lives. Through this fund, her Legacy for serving Youths into Greatness will live on for generations to come. This scholarship is specifically for Students from North West Manchester and is primarily funded through the family & friends of the late Lena Elizabeth Wilson. Each Academic Scholarship may be used towards the cost of cover the cost of tuition, books and/or other school-related expenses. Persons who are currently completing primary level and transitioning to High School in the upcoming academic year, are invited to apply for a scholarship.

Candidate Profile
• Age Group – 12 -17 years
• Academic Level: High School (1st year)
• Gender – applicable to both male and females
• Nationality - JAMAICAN
• Awardee must be enrolled in a high school
• Demonstrate Good conduct
• Financial Need – Candidate must be able to provide proof of financial need where requested.
• Interview – Candidates may be invited to participate in an interview where deemed necessary
• Community Service – Candidates must be actively involved in serving their community or school


Scholarship Details
• Scholarship tenure – 1 year (renewable)
• Number of scholarships – two (2) to three (3)
• Value of Scholarship – JMD30,000 each
• The Scholarship may be used to cover Books or Tuition

4. Most Recent School Transcript & Exam Results

6. Candidates who are shortlisted will be contacted to provide additional information and documents, where required

AWARDEE REQUIREMENTS
• Purpose Fulfilment Mentorship Support
  o All Awardees must participate in ID Pioneers Purpose Fulfilment Programme – either our 1-Day Programme or 1- Year Programme
  o Awardee must also be willing to work with an ID Pioneers Purpose Mentor for the duration of the Scholarship
• Required Academic Performance – Obtain and maintain a minimum B Average for the duration of the scholarship award.
• Behavioral Requirements – All scholarship Awardees must maintain a good conduct at school. Any act of misconduct will disqualify the Awardee from the benefits of this scholarship


The Joseph Wilson Young Farming Entrepreneurs Grant


This grant will be specifically for Farmers from North West Manchester and will be funded by the family of the late Joseph Wilson (Founder’s Grandfather). Joseph Wilson lived & died as a farmer and his love for farming will live on through grants made available to young Farming Entrepreneurs.

Candidate Profile
• Age Group – 18-25 years
• Academic Level: Secondary
• Gender – applicable to both male and females
• Nationality - JAMAICAN
• Awardee must be willing to be enrolled in an Agricultural Course
• Demonstrate Good conduct
• Financial Need – Candidate must be able to provide proof of financial need where requested.
• Interview – Candidates will be invited to participate in an interview where deemed necessary
• Community Service – Candidates must be actively involved in serving their community


Scholarship/Grant Details
• Grant tenure – 1 year (renewable)
• Number of Grant – one (1)
• Value of Grant – JMD30,000
• The Grant may be used towards farming supplies and equipment.

GRANT AWARDEE REQUIREMENTS
• Purpose Fulfilment Mentorship Support
  o All Awardees must participate in ID Pioneers Purpose Fulfilment Programme – either our 1-Day Programme or 1- Year Programme
  o Awardee must also be willing to work with an ID Pioneers Purpose Mentor for the duration of the Grant
• Required Professional/Skills Development – Must be willing to participate in skills/professional development courses in support of their personal growth and farming career
• Behavioral Requirements – All Grant Awardees must maintain good conduct throughout the tenure of the Grant. Any act of misconduct will disqualify the Awardee from the benefits of this Grant
• Status Update – All Grant Awardees are required to share frequent updates on their farming journey
